Process Optimization Through Intelligent Data Management
The Challenge
W.KRUK, founded in 1840, is the oldest jewelry brand in Poland. In 1990, the first jewelry store under the W.KRUK banner was opened in Poznań. In 2008, the company merged with Vistula Wólczanka to form Vistula Group S.A. The group includes the brands W.KRUK, Vistula, Wólczanka and Deni Cler. The brand currently sells in 140 stationary stores located throughout the country, as well as online.
W. KRUK's had a need to more effectively manage product information (attributes of merchandise), which is key to the company's business. In response to these needs, we implemented a PIM system to collect, update and share product data, regardless of the sales channel - for both stationary stores and e-commerce platforms.
- Scattered data in many places in the company led to chaos and difficulty in managing such information. It was necessary to organize product information to improve operational and decision-making processes.
- All data, including that related to marketing, was stored in the ERP system, leading to inefficient management. It was necessary to extract marketing data and use appropriate tools to optimize its management.
- The company was planning to expand into new markets, so a ready-made product database required creation during the rollout, providing comprehensive and consistent product information.
- In order to be able to respond quickly to the possibility of entering a new market, a PIM system needed to be implemented on short notice to enable the storage and distribution of product information in the new language.
The Solution
- The implementation process of Akeneo CE's PIM system went as expected and was completed within 2 months. We recommended this solution because of the speed of implementation (2 times faster than other popular tools on the market) and the availability of all functionalities necessary for the client.
- As a result, the company now has a ready database of product information, which is crucial for taking off in the new market.
- To ensure data consistency and process efficiency, we integrated the PIM system with the existing ERP system. Now, products are imported automatically from the ERP into PIM, eliminating the need for manual data entry and minimizing the risk of errors.
- We used the translation tool DeepL to automatically translate product descriptions into the appropriate language versions. This integration makes the product localization process faster and more efficient, enabling faster entry into new markets and increasing the company's global reach.
- With the PIM system, the company can effectively manage all product data in one place. This makes it easy to search, update and share consistent product information, resulting in greater efficiency in business processes.
- With an integrated data management process, the company can quickly bring new products to market. By eliminating unnecessary manual steps and automating translation processes, the time required to prepare product information for publication can be reduced, giving the company a competitive advantage.
- The PIM system makes it possible to maintain product data consistency by centralizing and standardizing information. This ensures that all users have access to up-to-date and reliable product data, resulting in a better customer experience and reduced risk of errors in business processes.
